First came death with his rosy cheeks commending the man. Second was the sick bay before all semblance left him. After that a surgery table and later hooked to IV’s under a coma. When he had come out of it and was released from the hospital bay his worst fears were addressed and the psych evaluations began.

Isolation protocols started and he managed. Finally the release of reconditioning, he began the path of becoming strong again and with it the healing took hold. A third psych evaluation and he was cleared, but it still hurt. The pain would always remind him, and he learned and never forgot.

Bruce had been handed his orders. As he walked down the long corridor several panes of glass allowed him to view the earth, but the man had no home there. Today the man was interested in only one thing… his crew. A new crew had been assigned and Bruce was eager to evaluate them himself instead of reading or hearing what random people thought they knew.

It seemed that their mission would be rather involved this time. Bruce stopped and saluted a visiting General before striding on. Come to think of it he had not been down to Earth in quite some time, shaking the random thought off he entered the cooler Mech. room which was on offshoot of the corridor. There filling the room were various mechanical items and computers which held extensive lists and information on every mechanical item available to the Group teams.

Passing the computers Bruce treaded deeper into the room which forked. To the right was a testing room of sorts, but Bruce was more interested in a specific person. The left led to many more rooms with name plates and various hallways and large rooms. Many fantastic and lifesaving inventions came from the rooms here and Bruce was looking for a specific one. Suddenly Bruce stopped and eyed a plaque on a metal door. Blinking again his eyes ran through the list of scientist names. Finding one that pleased him he entered numbers into a keypad to the left of the door and entered. Glancing at his watch Bruce noted the time of 14:00.

He would meet his first team since the incident at 1800.

[Well all! Here it is. Feel free to jump in. Obviously on a space station outside of earth with lots of cool stuff, to not be late for the old man. I’ll post randomly from now until later Saturday night when I’ll be on a bit more.]

"17:59. Well, i'm early.... This crew better be good." Jason glanced about the debriefing room with a huff. None of the crew had yet to arrive just yet, and he was beginning to feel a bit disconcerted by their failure to be punctual. Finally, the crew filed in. One by one, like a good crew should. It was nice. And not with a minute to spare. Interesting, and very nice.

He stood up and looked about at the generals, fellow captains, commanders, and then the rookies. Jeez. These kids were in for hell. This was yet to even become half as bloody as it was meant to be. But He knew that this shit was going to be like a rollercoaster ride: It will have its ups and downs. There will be a few laughs, a few heartaches, a couple of good moments shared, and millions of lifetimes hanging in the balance possibly.

They were meant to be the best of the best, some thought. Others thought it would be an easy way out from the carnage of the front lines. OH how wrong they were. Judging by what Captain Jason Statham had heard of the last Group 42, the bloody group would be lucky not to be scarred. But would it be worth it with all of the moments of utter chaos to come? He could only hope and wait to find out.

With the order to sit, he now stood in front of the crew now. His dark brown eyes glared about them all with a scrutinizing gaze. The glimpse of each face, he burned them all inside his brain, for he would most likely have to regret meeting half of them. Most likely a few would die, but he was going to be a good leader for now.

"Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. Soldiers, comrades, allies... Brothers and sisters in arms... This is the reforming of group 42. I am Captain Jason Statham. If you know not the way things run around here...." He began to make his way around them slowly, methodically to look upon them all and guage their reactions. He noticed a few with emotionless facades, and a few quivering. The range of nerves in here was astounding. "You'll learn real quick..."

Bruce was late, but it didn’t bother him. The Captain of the new Group 42 would be meeting his team. He reckoned there was at least 15 more minutes to waste if the new Captain liked to talk.

“Mr. Eklan the new devices are still in prototype from. Please be careful with them. We raced to have them finished just for you sir.” A scientist in brown corduroys and a blue sweater addressed Bruce civilly.

“When was I ever so infamous amongst you lot. Eh, thanks for the hard work.” Bruce wheeled on a heel and walked away from the scientist who simply shook his head.
The middle aged scientist turned away to mutter simple nothings.

10 minutes later Bruce was back in his room grabbing a large stack of debriefing material. It may seem unusual, but he would debrief this new captain and the crew all at once, all at the same time. Of course Bruce had his own reasons, but just as well he was curious as to how the new captain would take it. Normally the Captain is debriefed separately from his crew.

Smirking as he opened the door, he paused and returned to his bedside to pilfer through the stack of personnel files he had drowned in before retiring the night before. There as he withdrew a black file he stopped and sighed. Shoving the file amongst those under his arm, Bruce left the room.

Kally fidgeted as she listened to her first Captain. Surrounding her was the first group she would live, work, eat, sleep, and die with for the next several months. Wait, die? Kally’s mind strayed from the lecture though her eyes were fixed on her superior.

Death, the idea oddly struck her as probably and eventually certain with old age. But for this youth death was neither friend or foe, but a double-edged comrade, weapon. Suddenly become conscious of herself, Kally sneezed. Not a light or heavy sneeze, but certainly a high pitched one.

(Hey how many members of the crew should there be? I was thinking maybe 3 other “people” to make up the crew?)

Jason overheard a sneeze and instantly stopped. His eyes turned back to the female whom had accidentally done such. He couldn't blame her for such. Had she moved, she would've caught his attention. She sneezed, and it caught his attention.

He was an understanding guy. And hopefully these guys and girls would come to respect and like him for his understanding. The key to a good group was understanding and trust. That was what made a wonderful and well oiled machien of a crew. He could remember this old man he had always sat with, and hearing his tales of the old group 42. The ways they all got along, and joked around. but he also heard about the bad times, and the shares of carnage which even now gave him nightmares.

So many years later, he could remember the gruesome details in full. A slight shiver was seen taking his body as he continued about his business of the crew. He looked over them all and nodded. "A good squad, is formed through understanding and trust. I want to get to know you all. Starting with you, miss."

He pointed to the female whom had sneezed. "State your name, rank, and why you are here, please."

    (Idk really.)

(Ok I feels like there is a large group so lets just go with the flow and we'll either settle on a number or run some NPC like charries amongst the real characters. )

Kally paused and heard the cracking silence before popping up. "Sir! Kally Koon sir lietenant in arms support, I am here as a multifaceted fighting personnel for exploration and protection. Sir!"

A small smile crept over her face as she realized that she was really there reporting before her own commanding officer. She glowed with enthusiasm think of how proud her family would be.

He had noticed her smile at the report and smirked. An enthusiastic one. He knew who the hyper one was. He nodded to her and pointed to another male. He reported to be Lieutenant Gerald Ross, communications technician. Jason knew to keep communication with Earth, they would need to keep him alive. Well, then again, communications was fairly easy really. But Jason nodded to the male and went about the introductions one after another.

"You..." He pointed to another of the troop in the far back whom had just entered. He had seen the papers in grasp and smirked. A scientist of sorts?

The scientist of sorts was a young Asian man and fairly tall. He pushed up his glasses and eyed his Captain with a dash of annoyance. He swallowed, then saluted, "Yes Sir!"

The papers in his hand wrinkled a bit under his tight grip. And the boys jaw tightened as eyes drew up to him, but in his eyes was a rebellious determinism that kept him standing tall with an aire of pride.

    ------

Bruce smirked and whispered under his breath, "Idiot." Arms folded across his chest, Bruce leaned against a wall next to the doorway and ear hustled. He had watched the Lead Medical Officer Chi Soo walk in. The young man had his head in the papers he was reading and never noticed Bruce standing there. But then again Bruce had meant not to be noticed.

The Medical Officer was excellent in his class and had set records and new advances in medical science. Rising in the ranks quickly he was the youngest to join any Group number team. The boy was impressive. Yet for all of his smarts he was aggressive, arrogant, proud, and rebellious. He had a dislike for military kill tactics and anything aside from medical science. Originally he had applied for a medical position on the space station itself.

Sadly for him he was now apart of the offensive Group 42.

Shaking his head Bruce listened via a wonderful little piece of new generation technology, the W.H.E. device. Aka walls have ears. So long as a piece of uninhibited flesh was touching a barrier the listener could hear the entire conversation on the other side of the wall with pristine quality. One of the few new gadgets Bruce had acquired when visiting the labs on level 3 of the space station.
